CLG’s methodical preparation finally seems to be clicking, and TSM simply knows how to dismantle C9’s game plan better than anyone. On the other side, Phoenix1 fell to the revamped Immortals and a reinvigorated Team EnVy. Neither team comes into this matchup with any momentum, but both desperately need a win to stabilize their split.

For me, this series hinges entirely on jungle-mid synergy. When Contractz played aggressively around Jensen last season, Cloud9’s snowball potential was terrifying. He needs to rekindle that partnership, shadowing the mid lane and enabling Jensen to pressure the map. For Phoenix1, the same logic applies whether they start Inori or Meteos. Inori’s confidence is a fickle resource — when he gets early leads, his entire team feeds off his energy. P1’s success is almost formulaic: secure a strong early game for the jungler, translate that into mid priority, and then suffocate the map. If they fail to do that against C9, the game falls apart quickly.

The bot lane pairing is also showing better coordination, which rounds out one of the most complete early-game rosters on paper.

Team EnVy, however, is no pushover. The mid lane upgrade to Pirean has injected a dose of unpredictability into their playbook. I say upgrade with a laugh because we’ve seen so little of him, but right now Lira finally has a mid laner who can hold his own and enable his signature roaming. That small change has unlocked the entire team, and suddenly EnVy looks dangerous.

Yet, as much as I respect EnVy’s improvement, I don’t think their newfound stability will be enough to stop Immortals. Xmithie’s methodical pathing and late-game shot-calling give Immortals an edge that most teams can’t replicate. He knows how to guide a squad to the promised land, and I see him doing it again here. EnVy will put up a fight — I expect them to steal one game — but Immortals should close out the series 2-1, continuing their ascent while reminding everyone why they were pegged as contenders.

Day one of week two is likely to bring clarity to the chaos. Either the top teams will reaffirm their new positions, or the old guard will start fighting back. Whatever happens, I’ll be watching every minute, and you should too.
